apify_run — Orange Slice capability

Outcome-priced capability. One price for the answer, whichever providers it took. Everything we expose, with prices: https://orangeslice.ai/llms.txt

Runs an Apify actor and returns up to 1,000 dataset rows. Reserves five credits a row from the limit you ask for. For a pay-per-event actor read that as a floor rather than a quote — the real cost is not knowable until the actor has run — and note the hard cap of 20,000 credits, enforced on the run itself, so a runaway is stopped rather than billed.

Price

$0.01 per result, minimum $0.10, up to $10.00 per call

Billed per row returned, within the floor and ceiling above.

The price is a property of the outcome, not of the work behind it. Whichever vendor serves this call, and whatever it costs us, the number above is the number quoted before the run and charged after it.

Call it

CLI

orangeslice apify run apify/web-scraper \ --actor-input '{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://example.com"}]}' --limit 50

HTTP

curl -X POST 'https://orangeslice.ai/api/v1/run' \ -H 'Authorization: Bearer $ORANGESLICE_API_KEY' \ -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \ -d '{"capability":"apify_run","input":{"actor":"<string>"}}'

SDK

await services.apify.runActor({ actor: "…" });

Inputs

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
actorstringYesActor id or slug, e.g. "apify/web-scraper"
actorInputjsonNoInput object passed to the actor, as its own docs define it
limitnumberNoRows to read back from the run's dataset, up to 1000. Drives the estimate; the run's own credit ceiling is enforced regardless.

Inputs may also be piped as NDJSON, one JSON object per line.

Output

{ "$schema": "https://json-schema.org/draft/2020-12/schema", "type": "object", "properties": { "items": { "anyOf": [ { "type": "array", "items": { "type": "object", "propertyNames": { "type": "string" }, "additionalProperties": {} } }, { "type": "null" } ] } }, "required": [ "items" ], "additionalProperties": false }

The field that carries the answer is items. It is null — or empty — when nothing was found, which is how a miss is told from a hit without knowing anything else about this entry.

Before you run

  • Price it first. orangeslice apify run --dry-run returns the exact dollar cost and spends nothing.
  • Large runs need approval. Above the spend-gate threshold a run exits 7 until it carries a plan token, and only a dry run mints one.
  • Scopes: enrich
  • Permitted uses: research, export
